Project A Before
Project A After
This 100 yr. old Victorian was suffering from years of neglect. Termites had infiltrated the hardwood floors. The kitchen floor and joists needed to be replaced. The brick chimney was crumbling. The plaster was falling off the walls and ceiling and were laminated with new drywall. There was no A/C or insulation in the walls. The windows needed to be replaced and were done so as to preserve the moldings and the look of the original windows with insulated glass. The roof leaked. The electric and water services needed to be upgraded. The front porch had settled. The kitchen floor plan needed to be reworked and bathrooms needed to be remodeled. The laundry room was re-located to the 2nd floor. The original exterior trim needed to be replicated. The entire house needed to be painted.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath rambler was too small for a growing family. The tiny addition was removed along with the existing roof. Additions were added to both sides and the rear of the house. A second floor and finished attic space were added above. The basement was converted into additional living space. The resulting 5 bedroom, 4 bath home boasts two gas fireplaces and hardwood flooring throughout. A new kitchen features the latest in cabinetry, appliances and solid surface countertops. A flagstone walkway leading to a covered porch provides a welcoming entrance.

We were contacted by the homeowner after a stop work order was issued against a previous contractor. After correcting all the deficiencies, we enclosed the front porch and removed the existing front wall. The result was an enlarged living room. Several interior walls were removed and hardwood floors installed. The new open floor plan includes a new kitchen. The second floor was converted into a master bedroom suite and bathroom. The aluminum siding was removed to expose the original wood siding. New windows and doors and a fresh coat of paint completed the makeover

This project involved removing the roof of the existing house and adding a second floor; removing the carport and adding a kitchen addition over a full basement; and creating a new front entry. The new 2nd floor has a master bedroom, a large walk in closet, master bath and exercise room. A remodeled hall bath is adjacent to a second bedroom. New fiber cement siding, windows and roof shingles create a tight building envelope. A new heating/cooling system, water service and electric service provide a thoroughly modern home.

This dated kitchen was enlarged by removing a wall between the dining room and kitchen and enlarging the opening to the hallway. Adding 2 transom openings above the wall cabinets and 2 skylights in the ceiling allow more natural light to flood the area. The linoleum floor was replaced with hardwood flooring. The laminated cabinets were replaced by raised oak cabinets. Stainless steel appliances and solid surface counters bring this kitchen up to date. The peninsula base cabinets and countertop provide extra storage and seating. The movable island is great for meal preparation and can be rolled out of the way when not needed.
